The West London based club and newly named defending gods of Europe are trying to bring forth major changes to their tarnished squad. With the already confirmed signings of Marko Marin and Eden Hazard, Chelsea are showing intent to completely transform their midfield into a more creative force.
The clubs transfer policy has to be noted down as a smart one with bargain signings of the German Messi Marko Marin and Kevin De Bruyne. It shows that the club is aiming for a brighter future and for an era with huge success. Changes have already begun to take place as players have been released as they are deemed to be “useless” for the team after achieving their maiden European glory.
The club is noted to be interested in signing Van Der Wiel and Hulk. Chelsea have lacked wingers who can produce crosses of fine quality and take the occasional shot at goal as well. Hulk comes in here with his complete set of skills ready to destroy any team on his path. The departure of Jose Bosingwa would leave the fans happy as he hardly contributed to the club’s success. The youngster Van Der Wiel is considered one of the most talented right-backs in the world. His signing could boost the team in more than just one way. Right backs are never considered to play a huge part on the field. But Chelsea would feel very different. If Chelsea are to build on their success, they have to thrive on solid attacking moves through the flanks.
Getting to Marin’s signing, it’s a very good bargain at 7 million for someone who looks to have a great future. He has untapped potential which could show its true colours in the Premier League. He could be help Mata or Hazard in the midfield and also a very good rotation option when matches get congested. Marin has had a bad season at Werder Bremen with injuries plaguing him from time to time. But the young star could just become the next hit as the German invasion of the Premier League began with Lukas Podolski joining Arsenal. Although he has only 8 goals in 87 appearances for Werder Bremen, whichis pretty less for a midfielder who plays in the Bundesliga, I have spent a few weeks watching their matches in which he plays and he keeps the attack fluid by getting on the ball and providing it at the right moment.
On Eden Hazard there isn’t much to say and I’m very happy that Chelsea have acquired his services. To learn my opinion on the talented youngster, read my article on Eden Hazard .
Now coming over to the sensitive case of Kevin De Bruyne. If you play Football Manager regularly this is definitely one of the first signings you should make. Defined as a hot prospect fans had mixed emotions with his arrival as they saw him play against us at the groups stages of the Champions League for RC Genk. There have been rumours of him getting a loan move to Southampton and that is just about perfect as he will get a much needed Premier League experience. I got the liberty to watch some of his matches and he has impressed me with his movements down the flanks and inch-perfect assists. A good addition but it could have waited.
There are many positive points to gather here but as they say a beautiful garden is not just made by one type of flower but by different flowers which add to its beauty. Chelsea fans around the world have great things too look forward to as the Russian money keeps us the busiest team in the transfer market . To those who are afraid of Financial Fair Play Rule or FFP, remember Roman Abramovich is a business man first and then the owner of world-famous football club. He has managed bigger crisis’ in his industries, so trust him to manage the profit and losses for us and in turn, that will still keep us an unbeatable side with top-class signings.
I will be putting my thoughts down on a paper about Hulk soon. Until then remain carefree.
